Sedella, the home of me, my dogs and cats

Aztec, my Siberian Husky, was found 2000  in Dubai on a deserted beach (yes, in those times these still existed). He was brought to a vet on Sh. Zayed Rd, where he had a hip replacement and his fractured leg was set and casted. They thought that Aztec was thrown out of a driving car into the desert. My Persian cat had died and everybody knew I was looking for a new cat and I was sent within 1 month 3 x to that vet on Sh Zayed Rd, without result. The 3rd time I really got upset and knew something was there for me, but … there were no Persian cats, so I started looking through all cages without result, I was just leaving the vet when I saw a cage with a towel in front. I took away the towel and there was this beautifull husky laying in his own dirt. I was told that the same evening he was going to be put to sleep as his constant diarrhea did not stop. I immediately took him. It took me another 3 months to give him the confidence and love he needed, when finally his body reacted normally and illnesses and nervousness was gone. Aztec lived with me in Dubai, Dar es Salaam and now finally Spain.

About 6 month after I got Aztec I walked in the plant street in Satwa, when I saw the most ugly kitten I have ever seen in a cage behind a window for sale. I walked inside the shop and asked if they were now stealing cats from the street Aztec Profile in the snowCosta y BellaDominic & Linceand selling them. I was told that the kitten with the largest nose in no dimention to the face, was a Siberian Angora, his papers showed he came from Russia, I went home, googled Siberian Angora and was astonished to find that these cats were guarding the monasteries in Siberia. I went back to the shop and baught my first “Ugly” cat, which turned out to be the biggest kisser and has a real possessive character. He dominates everybody and goes with us on all the walks, soon he will start barking. Also Dominic lived with me in Dubai, Dar es Salaam and now Spain.

2007 I moved to Spain, Costa del Sol. I had gone, without realizing, to the vet for vaccinations for Dominic on the wrong date (18 July, the birthday of my late sister). A Dutch lady came in with a box and in that box 2 puppies, dirty and sick. She had found them in the mountains above Puerto Banus. We were all ooohh, and aaahhhh and somebody put one on my shoulders, then somebody else put the other one on my shoulders: I was sold. Dominic got his vaccinations, puppies were cleaned and I drove home to the apartment on the beach I had rented. It was a circus, Dominic, Aztec and 2 puppies. When I looked at the papers prepared by the vet, I saw I had another appointment, so I called the vet and asked if the puppies needed to come back, the reply: “No, Marilyn, you came on the wrong date, we did not say anything because we did not have many patients”. The quintessenz is: My sister sent me 2 puppies on her birthday. I called the puppies Costa and Bella, the name of the village where I lived at that time.

Now I had to think about moving, it was the best thing that ever happened to me, I found a villa on top of a mountain, next to the National Park in Sedella. Now, the puppies needed a vet, so I found one in Caleta. While waiting I saw an open file on the small table in the waitingroom. Of course I should never have opened it, but … I did. As I went through the pages I saw the most beautifull Main Coon, with a note that it was looking for a place. There was no doubt in my mind that this Main Coon was for me. The receptionist called the owner and soon Lince was brought into the clinic. He was huge, a bit larger then Dominic who is also a huge cat, his fur was horrible and he was laying in his own dirt! Lince has a long name …. he was a showcat …. he got fedup most probably after 6 years of sitting in a cage and also like Aztec got diarrhea. Poor Lince, he could not jump, nor run, not defend himself against Dominic, I realized he had been moved from one family to another after he could not be used as a showcat anymore, poor Lince. Again like with Aztec it took time, he was completely shaved, different foods were tried. I stopped all medication, at the moment Lince sleeps on top of the doggies, jumps on windowsims, goes outside and eats and drinks with Dominic. Only after excitement, when Dominic claims his first rights, he gets nervous and diarrhea will nicely be dropped in the cat tray (which was not the case when I got him). Lince is kind, but on quiet evenings, laying on the sofa, watching a nice movie with doggies laying beside or on top of me, Lince slowly observes the situation, looks for the best way to come and lay on top of me, even if that means to lay on top of puppies and he purrrrrrrrs.
